I just watched an interview of Baltimore Raven’s Linebacker Ray Lewis on ESPN, by Sal Palantonio. The interview is mainly about the NFL lockout.
I must humbly admit, even I in my attempt to give every one the benefit of the doubt, regardless of appearances, that I thought Ray was just another, “dumb, rich, jock,” However, he proved me wrong. Now, I realize why he has so much success on the field, it’s partly because of his “off-the-field” attitude…he get’s “It,” he really get’s it!
What does he “get?” He understands the deeper meaning of this precious thing that we call, ”Human” life. It was refreshing, to say the least, to see and hear someone who is personally involved speaking the truth about the ramifications of this NFL lockout, which most fans see as a silly, rich-boy’s, financial chess-game.
I can’t justifiably put into words the power, truth and passion of this short interview any better than Ray himself. All I can say is, “You hit the nail on the head. Thank you,” and bravo, Ray, bravo!
